The antihero is much more than the brutal avenger we often associate with the term today. Traditionally, the antihero is simply a protagonist without classic heroic virtues, more Bilbo than John Wick. In this talk, Valdemar Rygaard Lenschow delves into the diverse history of the antihero in the fantasy genre and shows how the figure reflects real people rather than pure ideals. A journey through the many ways a hero can be a hero without being heroic.
