A community of magic, gaming and queer friendships, all of which Simon Zander found. Drawing on his many years in League of Legends, he talks about finding a life-shaping team of “gaymers” in an otherwise harsh online environment. The talk depicts the importance of community in the midst of homophobia and competition, and how the game’s roles, universes and relationships have left a clear mark on Simon’s fantasy writing.
