"Villains": The Theme of Fantasy Festival 2025
After a grand meeting in the fictional villains’ union, they’ve sent a request to us in the Fantasy Festival project group. They want to be on the poster!
And they will be. Because without villains, most fantasy stories would be dull, lifeless, and conflict-free. Our beloved heroes need villains, and we need those villains to be cool, vivid, strange, wild, different, and evil. So that there’s something at stake.
Just take a look at our villain Maklakitha from Fantasy Quest Esbjerg. And get ready for the villains you’ll meet in next year’s quest!
Because in the world of fiction, it’s often the villains who are the most interesting. Or put another way: they are the spice that gives the story flavor and color—they are what push our heroes to be their very best.
So this year, we’re handing over the theme stage to the dear villains!
As always, there will be talks and program items not directly related to the theme, but we do recommend that you channel your inner villain, especially if you’re the type who enjoys dressing up.
And don’t worry—we’ll make sure there are heroes present at next year’s festival too.
But we can’t wait to explore the concept of “villains” with you.
Insert evil laughter here, something like: "MU HA HA HA!"
