# The programme is live – and the villains have taken over Esbjerg!

Take a deep breath. The scent of magic, darkness, and adventure is already in the air – because the official programme for Fantasyfestival 2025 is finally here!

The festival programme offers something for everyone – children and adults, hardcore fans and curious newcomers, noble heroes and cunning villains. And trust us, you’ll want to start getting excited: this year’s line-up is filled with magical highlights!

We’re also celebrating three beloved Danish authors marking major milestones: Kenneth Bøgh Andersen and Anne-Marie Vedsø Olesen (25 years as authors) and Nicole Boyle Rødtnes (15 years). Kenneth will appear in the spectacular event *Welcome to Valhalla!* alongside Peter Madsen, where they’ll share insights into their bold retelling of the legendary Valhalla universe.

Our international line-up doesn’t disappoint either. We’re thrilled to welcome four incredible Guests of Honour: Tad Williams, Victoria Aveyard, Alexandria Warwick, and Lev Grossman – names that will thrill any fantasy reader.

This year also brings something new to the festival: an all-out *Cosplay Competition*! There's still time to register and take to the catwalk in your best – and perhaps most villainous – fantasy look.

In the shadowy comfort of the cinema, you can enjoy two iconic fantasy films: *Legend* and *Excalibur* – both dripping with mystery and 1980s magic.

You can also experience the thought-provoking lecture *Dangerous Women – The Religious History of Women* with Sisse Marie Kromann, get goosebumps from *NØJEREN* with LG Jensen and Mikkel Egelund, and be swept away by legendary live storytelling with Vigga Bro.

As always, the festival features a wealth of activities and workshops for children, lively panel debates with Danish fantasy authors, combat displays, music, and – of course – the much-loved *Fantasy Quiz* with Boris Hansen. And don’t miss the grand finale: the presentation of this year’s Danish Fantasy Awards!
