# Taran Matharu

Taran is a British fantasy author, known for the *Summoner* and *Contender* series (*Påkalderen* and *DelTager* in Danish). His books have been translated into 15 different languages and have appeared multiple times on the New York Times bestseller list.

At just 22 years old, Taran began writing the *Summoner* series as part of NaNoWriMo in 2013, and he debuted as a published author with the first book in 2015.

The first book in Taran's new fantasy series for adults, *Dragon Rider*, has just been released in English.

Taran visited Fantasyfestival for the first time in 2023, and we are thrilled to welcome him back.

> Fantasy Festival in Elsberg was a wonderful experience.
