# Katja Brandis

Katja Brandis was one of the Fantasyfestival's Guests of Honour in 2023. Katja is a German fantasy author, known for over 50 books for children, young adults, and adults, including the bestselling series *Woodwalkers* and *Seawalkers*, both of which have been translated into Danish.

As a child, she wrote stories, and after an internship at a publishing house and a job as a journalist, she became a full-time author in 2006. She lives near Munich with her husband, son, and three cats, and when she's not writing, she loves reading, swimming, getting to know animals, and traveling.
